Back off pastors and parents…this section is for students only. Whether you’re in high school or you just finished your second year of college this stuff is for you. In this section you will find weekly devos that will help you to go deeper in your walk with God. There’s a section for guys only and for girls only. Regardless of where you are or the day to day things that you deal with, these devotions will challenge and equip you to be a passionate student for Christ. You will also find applications to fill out if you are interested in serving with 29.11 Student Ministries as an intern or if you are interested in serving as a mission team member during our summer mission trip. So students, dive in and see all the incredible things that God has waiting for you!
Each year 29.11 Student Ministries is privileged to have interns from some of the snazziest high schools and colleges in the nation working with the 29.11 Team in North Carolina and around the globe as they minister to students.
Most of the interns that are involved with 29.11 are students that Dirk has met around the country at camps and retreats. Interns with 29.11 are guys (and occasionally girls) that have expressed a call on their lives to full time youth ministry and are interested in getting practical hands-on experience.
The intern responsibilities vary widely over the course of the year. Some time will be spent assisting with administrative duties, marketing, logistics support, event execution, creating illustrations and developing talks. All interns are required to work closely with Dirk and will have many opportunities to be involved in real life, hands-on ministry. Interns will also spend time being discipled by the 29.11 Staff.
Interns are responsible for raising their own funds to cover their expenses. Estimated costs for the internship is about $1,500 per month (however, this varies widely depending on the months of the year). Each summer, Dirk takes a small group of students that he’s met from around the country on an overseas mission trip. These trips are usually sometime in June or July and are usually around 10-12 days long. Cost of the trip is approximately $2,000 - $2,500 which includes airfare, lodging, materials and most meals. Each student must arrive in Mars Hill, North Carolina 2 days prior to departure. Keep in mind that expenses incurred traveling to and from North Carolina from the students home town is not included in the cost of the mission trip.
Prior mission trip experience is required. Each student going must be at least an up and coming senior in high school and must have been on at least one previous mission trip.
